GIPS Standards Conference and Workshop
The European GIPS Standards Conference is scheduled for 11-12 February 2009 in London. With the pending release of the draft version of the next GIPS standards for public comment in early January 2009, an important part of the conference will be discussing the implications of these proposed changes for firms, regulators, and the investment community at large.

Other critical topics include issues surrounding measuring alternative investments — such as hedge funds, the current regulatory environment, error correction, and the new requirements that come into effect in 2010.

Space is limited, so register early.

There is still space available at the upcoming GIPS standards interactive workshop on 4 December 2008 in Toronto, 5 February 2009 in New York, and 10 February 2009 in London. The workshop will help participants master the requirements of the GIPS standards, including composite construction, performance calculation, and creating a compliant presentation. Key Issues from Boston

New Draft in January

The GIPS standards are undergoing a comprehensive review for the release of a revised version effective 1 January 2011. The complete draft of all provisions will be issued in January 2009 for public comment. The EC encourages you to provide comment on the proposed changes during the public comment period. Comments will be considered for incorporation in the revised GIPS standards to be released in early 2010.
